🇺🇸 Trump Demands Iran Nuclear Ban and Free Shipping Through Strait of Hormuz as Global Reactions Pour In

President Donald Trump has issued a forceful new statement calling on Iran to permanently abandon any path toward developing a nuclear weapon while demanding the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz for unrestricted international shipping.

“Iran must agree that they will never have a Nuclear Weapon or Bomb. The Hormuz Strait must be immediately open, no tolls, for unrestricted shipping traffic, in both directions.”

The Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical energy chokepoints, carries a significant portion of global oil shipments, meaning any disruption can quickly impact global energy prices and international trade stability.

Trump’s statement reflects his continued “maximum pressure” approach toward Iran, with supporters arguing it strengthens U.S. leverage without financial concessions, while critics warn it could further increase regional tensions.

Iran has repeatedly rejected unilateral demands over its nuclear program, insisting its activities are peaceful and must remain under sovereign control and international monitoring. Tehran has also stressed that decisions regarding the Strait of Hormuz must involve regional stakeholders and diplomatic negotiation.

Israel has consistently supported strong measures to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons and has welcomed tougher international pressure aimed at limiting Iran’s regional influence.

Globally, reactions remain divided. Several Gulf countries prioritize keeping the Strait open to protect energy flows, while European states have urged restraint and renewed diplomacy. Russia and China have expressed concern over escalating pressure tactics, calling instead for negotiations. Regional mediators continue efforts to prevent further escalation in the Persian Gulf.

The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the most strategically important waterways in the world, and any shift in its security or access rules could have major consequences for global markets and geopolitical stability.
