PM Shehbaz Chairs Key Meeting with Pakistan Envoys to GCC, Iran

ISLAMABAD, May 18: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday chaired an important meeting with Pakistan’s ambassadors posted in Iran and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, stressing the need to further strengthen economic diplomacy and regional cooperation.

The meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s Office and attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Adviser to the Prime Minister Dr. Syed Tauqir Shah, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi, and Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch.

During the meeting, Pakistani ambassadors briefed the prime minister on bilateral relations, emerging opportunities, and key challenges in their respective host countries. Discussions focused on enhancing trade and investment ties, boosting remittances, strengthening economic diplomacy, and addressing matters related to the Pakistani diaspora.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the historic, strategic, and economic importance of Iran and GCC countries in Pakistan’s foreign policy. He directed the envoys to actively pursue greater cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and people-to-people exchanges.

The meeting also reviewed the evolving regional and international situation, with special emphasis on promoting peace, stability, and economic cooperation across the broader region.
