Pakistan Defeat South Korea 3–1 in Islamabad, Take Early Lead in Four-Match Hockey Series

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan made an impressive start to the four-match international hockey series by defeating South Korea 3–1 in the opening match played in Islamabad on Friday.

The Green Shirts produced a disciplined and attacking performance, dominating key phases of the match to secure a well-deserved victory before the home crowd. Pakistan’s forwards converted their chances effectively, while the defence remained resolute to limit South Korea to a single goal.

The victory gives Pakistan a 1–0 lead in the series and provides a major confidence boost as the national team continues its preparations for upcoming international competitions.

The remaining fixtures of the series will also be played in Islamabad on 2 August, 4 August, and 7 August, where Pakistan will look to maintain its winning momentum and clinch the series against the visiting South Korean side.

Pakistan Hockey Federation officials praised the team’s spirited performance and expressed hope that the series would help strengthen the national squad while promoting international hockey in Pakistan.
