Pakistan COAS Concludes Three-Day Official Visit to Iran, Reaffirms Commitment to Regional Peace
Rawalpindi, April 18, 2026 (ISPR) — Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces of Pakistan, along with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and a high-level delegation, has concluded a three-day official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
During the visit, the Field Marshal called on President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian and held separate meetings with Speaker of the National Assembly Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and Commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters Major General Ali Abdollahi.
According to ISPR, discussions focused on the evolving regional security environment, ongoing diplomatic engagements, and collaborative efforts aimed at promoting sustainable peace and stability in the region. The Pakistani leadership emphasized the importance of dialogue, de-escalation, and peaceful resolution of outstanding issues through sustained diplomatic engagement.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir expressed appreciation for the hospitality extended by the Iranian leadership and people. He conveyed warm regards from the President, the Prime Minister, and the people of Pakistan to the leadership of Iran, reaffirming Pakistan’s desire to further strengthen bilateral relations.
The visit reflects Pakistan’s continued emphasis on peace, stability, and regional cooperation, and its support for a negotiated settlement of conflicts in the broader Middle East region.
