ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday welcomed H.E. Sheikh Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary General of the Muslim World League (MWL), during his visit to Islamabad, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to promoting peace, education, interfaith harmony and unity across the Muslim world.
The Prime Minister congratulated Sheikh Dr. Al-Issa on being awarded an honorary doctorate in recognition of his outstanding services to the Muslim Ummah and his unwavering efforts to promote the true teachings of Islam, including peace, compassion, tolerance and coexistence.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also expressed appreciation for the Muslim World League chief’s generous recognition of Pakistan’s recent diplomatic and regional peace initiatives. He particularly highlighted the contributions of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, whose efforts played a significant role in the successful conclusion of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
The meeting underscored the shared resolve of Pakistan and the Muslim World League to strengthen cooperation in advancing quality education, fostering interfaith dialogue, countering extremism through peaceful engagement, and promoting greater unity and solidarity among Muslim nations.
The Prime Minister reiterated that Pakistan values its close partnership with the Muslim World League and remains committed to working together to advance the universal Islamic principles of peace, mutual respect, compassion and coexistence while contributing to regional and global stability.
