Riyadh Meeting Unites Arab & Islamic Nations Against Iranian Aggression

..
In a decisive and unified diplomatic response, foreign ministers from leading Arab and Islamic nations convened in Riyadh and issued a strongly worded joint statement condemning what they described as escalating and unjustified aggression by Iran, signaling a rare moment of collective resolve amid rising regional tensions.

The high-level consultative meeting brought together ministers from Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Türkiye, and the United Arab Emirates, reflecting growing concern over recent attacks targeting multiple countries across the region.

According to the joint statement, the ministers denounced Iran’s use of ballistic missiles and drones against civilian populations and critical infrastructure, including oil facilities, desalination plants, airports, residential buildings, and diplomatic premises. They emphasized that such deliberate attacks are unacceptable under any circumstances and constitute a serious violation of international law.

The participating nations reaffirmed the inherent right of states to self-defense in accordance with the United Nations Charter and called on Iran to immediately cease all hostile actions. They stressed that de-escalation, respect for sovereignty, and adherence to international and humanitarian law are essential steps toward restoring stability in the region.

The ministers further warned that future relations with Iran would depend on its willingness to refrain from interference in the internal affairs of neighboring countries and to respect their territorial integrity. They also urged full compliance with UN Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026), which calls for an immediate halt to attacks and provocative actions.

Concerns were also raised over threats to key maritime routes, including the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab, with ministers cautioning against any actions that could endanger global trade and regional security.

At the same time, the statement reaffirmed strong support for Lebanon’s sovereignty and stability, while condemning Israel for its continued aggression and expansionist posture in the region.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to sustained coordination and consultation among participating countries to confront emerging threats and safeguard regional peace, security, and sovereignty.
