PM Shehbaz, Azerbaijan President Agree to Boost Bilateral Cooperation

Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Ilham Aliyev on Tuesday, during which both leaders reaffirmed the strong brotherly ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his best wishes for the success of the upcoming World Urban Forum in Baku and expressed confidence that the event would contribute to advancing the global urban development agenda.

The two leaders expressed satisfaction over the growing bilateral relations and reiterated their commitment to enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, energy and people-to-people exchanges.

Regional developments, particularly ongoing peace efforts in the Middle East, also came under discussion. President Aliyev appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting a ceasefire between Iran and the United States.

Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact and looked forward to meeting later this year.
