Islamabad: A crucial meeting of the Federal Cabinet was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
According to PMO Media Wing, Islamabad: October 11, 2026, the Federal Cabinet was given a detailed briefing on the deteriorating law and order situation and rising terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Cabinet expressed grave concern over the deliberate disengagement of the provincial government from the war against terrorism.
After a detailed review, the Cabinet recommended to the Prime Minister to advise the President of Pakistan to exercise his constitutional powers and impose Emergency in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under *Article 232 and 234* of the Constitution of Pakistan in view of the gravity of the situation.
In this regard, a formal advice has been sent from the Prime Minister House to the Presidency. The decision will be ratified in the Joint Session of Parliament on Tuesday.
