Pakistan President Confers Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) on General Syed Aamer Raza

ISLAMABAD, August 11, 2026: President Asif Ali Zardari conferred the prestigious Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) on General Syed Aamer Raza, HI (M), S Bt, Commander National Strategic Command (CNSC), in recognition of his distinguished services, professional excellence and contributions to Pakistan’s defence and national security.

The special investiture ceremony was held at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad, attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu.

Members of the federal cabinet, Parliament and the diplomatic community also attended the ceremony.

The President praised General Aamer Raza’s professional acumen and distinguished services to the defence and security of Pakistan. The Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) is among the country’s highest national civil and military honours.

Later, General Aamer Raza paid a courtesy call on President Zardari. The President conveyed his best wishes to the senior military commander for his future responsibilities.

The ceremony comes against the backdrop of Pakistan’s continued focus on strengthening its national defence and strategic security architecture, with the National Strategic Command playing a critical role in the country’s strategic defence framework.
