Pakistan has produced a major breakthrough at the Esports World Cup 2026, with Pakistani star Khawaja Muhammad Zubair capturing the Tekken 8 world title in Paris.

Zubair delivered a dominant performance in the Grand Final, defeating South Korea’s renowned player Yoon “LowHigh” Sun-woong 5–0 to claim the championship. He had earlier defeated fellow Pakistani esports star Arslan “Ash” Siddique in the semi-final to reach the final.

The victory marks one of Pakistan’s biggest achievements on the international esports stage and underlines the country’s growing reputation in competitive fighting games.

🌍 A $75 MILLION GLOBAL ESPORTS BATTLE

The Esports World Cup 2026 is being staged in Paris, France, from July 6 to August 23, bringing together more than 2,000 professional players, around 200 esports clubs and competitors from more than 100 countries.

The tournament features 25 competitions across 24 major games, with a record-breaking $75 million prize pool.

Among the headline titles are Counter-Strike 2, League of Legends, Dota 2, VALORANT, Call of Duty, Rocket League, PUBG, Tekken 8 and other major esports games.

👑 WHO WILL TAKE THE WORLD CUP CROWN?

Unlike a traditional single-game world championship, the Esports World Cup also features a Club Championship.

Clubs collect points through their performances across different games, with the most successful overall organization crowned the Esports World Cup Club Champion.

A $30 million Club Championship prize pool is at stake, including a $7 million first prize for the overall champion.

🇸🇦 TEAM FALCONS SEEK A THIRD STRAIGHT TITLE

The previous two Club Championship trophies belong to Saudi Arabia’s Team Falcons, who won the inaugural EWC title in 2024 and successfully defended it in 2025.

Falcons therefore enter the 2026 competition seeking an unprecedented third consecutive Club Championship.

But with the tournament now taking place in Paris and several of the world’s strongest esports organizations battling across 24 games, the race for the 2026 crown remains wide open.
