Rawalpindi, July 20: Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Anita Anand called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Monday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, regional security, and bilateral relations between Pakistan and Canada.
During the meeting, Field Marshal Asim Munir shared Pakistan’s perspective on global peace and regional stability, emphasizing the importance of cooperation and collective efforts to address common security challenges.
Foreign Minister Anita Anand appreciated Pakistan’s continued efforts and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and acknowledged the country’s constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening Pakistan–Canada bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in the fields of defence and security.
The meeting reflects the growing engagement between Islamabad and Ottawa and underscores both countries’ shared interest in enhancing cooperation on regional and international security issues.
