Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni Arrives in Islamabad on Official Visit with High-Level Delegation
Islamabad: Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni arrived in Islamabad on an official visit to Pakistan, leading a high-level delegation aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and discussing key regional issues.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi received his Iranian counterpart at the airport. Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry presented a bouquet to Minister Momeni, while Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam was also present on the occasion.
Welcoming the visiting minister, Mohsin Naqvi said, “I warmly welcome my brother to Pakistan.” He expressed hope that the visit would bring positive developments and further deepen the longstanding brotherly ties between Pakistan and Iran.
“This visit will further promote bilateral relations, and we also hope for positive progress on the regional situation,” Naqvi added.
Expressing his gratitude, Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni said, “I am delighted to meet my brother Mohsin Naqvi once again. Pakistan and Iran enjoy exemplary relations, and I have always appreciated the warm hospitality extended by the Government and the people of Pakistan.”
The Iranian minister is accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising the Governor-General of Sistan and Baluchestan Province, Iran’s Deputy Interior Minister, Deputy Minister for Urban Development and Transport, the Head of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), the Special Representative of the Iranian Minister of Agriculture, and other senior officials.
During his visit, Minister Momeni is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. The meetings are expected to focus on bilateral relations, border security, trade, energy cooperation, and the evolving regional situation.
Mohsin Naqvi expressed confidence that the Iranian Interior Minister’s visit would prove productive and contribute to further strengthening the longstanding friendship and strategic cooperation between Pakistan and Iran.
