CHOLPON-ATA, Kyrgyzstan, July 7, 2026: President Asif Ali Zardari arrived in Cholpon-Ata on Tuesday on an official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic, where he was warmly received by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov at Issyk-Kul International Airport.

Upon his arrival, President Zardari was presented with a guard of honour, marking the start of his official engagements in the Central Asian country.

President Zardari is the first Pakistani head of state to visit Kyrgyzstan since the historic visit of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto in 1995, making the trip an important milestone in the continuation of high-level exchanges between the two friendly countries.

During the visit, President Zardari and President Japarov are expected to hold wide-ranging talks on bilateral relations and review cooperation across key sectors, including trade, investment, energy, mining, agriculture, education, healthcare, tourism, the digital economy and people-to-people exchanges.

The two leaders will also discuss ways to further strengthen the longstanding brotherly ties between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan and promote regional connectivity and mutually beneficial cooperation.
