Govt Mobilizes to Counter Economic Fallout of Regional Tension
Islamabad: Prime Minister chaired a high-level meeting to review the potential financial and economic impact of the prevailing regional tensions, with a focus on devising medium- and long-term strategies.
The Prime Minister appreciated the coordinated efforts of relevant ministries and institutions in addressing the situation and directed that inter-agency collaboration be further strengthened for more effective outcomes. He emphasized that the proposed strategy must not disrupt production or the balance of supply and demand across key sectors of the economy.
Despite the challenging circumstances, the Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the continued availability of essential commodities and instructed that both internal and external macroeconomic factors be thoroughly assessed in policy formulation.
The meeting was attended by Federal Ministers Ahsan Iqbal, Muhammad Aurangzeb, Owais Ahmed Khan Leghari, Attaullah Tarar, Musadik Malik, Rana Tanveer, Ali Pervaiz Malik, Ahad Khan Cheema, Special Assistant Haroon Akhtar, State Bank Governor Jameel Ahmad, and other senior officials.
